Skyrocketing costs and a highly uninsured population are only two of the challenges facing Americans needing health care. This program is structured around the core principle that everyone should have access to quality and affordable health care, regardless of social and economic factors. It will also explore the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA), disparities among groups of health care users, and how those disparities affect access and treatment from a variety of viewpoints. Along with building an argument for this perspective, the program will provide participants with practical skills and tools to educate their peers and organize advocacy initiatives in their communities.

Why will I LOVE this Program?
Fair and equal access to health care is a national priority. This program will help scholars better understand some of the issues impacting health care around the United States. Specifically, we will focus on concepts that are impacting the medical community today and into the future. By focusing on legislative changes and the fair access to health care services, scholars will be better prepared to treat patients across varied populations. We are going to use a diverse set of methods and discuss the matter with a variety of experts in order to best understand the issues around the access to health care for all patients.
