I AM A LOOKING TO GO

AMSA PremedFest Wrap-Up

February 02, 2016

AMSA PremedFest is officially a wrap! The festival, held in partnership with Kaplan Test Prep, was hosted by the AMSA pre-health chapter at Hillsborough Community College in Plant City, Fla., on Saturday, January 30.

Over 200 pre-health students participated in 20+ sessions and heard from inspiring speakers like Patch Adams, MD, and Gary Rose, MD. The energy was so contagious that Patch Adams held an impromptu “after hours” session with more than 50 students in attendance!

“PremedFest has been an absolute blast! I really enjoyed the sessions and appreciated the fun and laidback feel of the event,” said AMSA Premedical Trustee Stefanie Smith. “The speakers were great and I learned a ton of strategies that will help me apply to med school.”

PremedFest celebrates the decision to pursue a health related occupation. Getting into med school is one of the most challenging things a student can do. PremedFest helps make it fun. Stayed tuned for information on next year’s PremedFest event.

If you missed PremedFest, don’t stress. Make plans to attend the AMSA Convention & Exposition being held March 31 – April 3 in Washington, DC. There will be 60+ sessions, hands-on clinical skills training, fun competitions, and much more. Register today!

AMSA’s second PremedFest was a huge success! Thanks to everyone who joined AMSA and Patch Adams!
