June 21 Special Event: Two Years Post-Roe Teach-In for Reproductive Justice

May 18, 2024

Through our work we seek to nurture the next generation of physicians who are reproductive freedom dreamers and doers, and we are excited to announce and invite you to participate in a special Teach-In for Reproductive Justice to mark the two years since the Dobbs decision reversed the federal, constitutional protections to the right to abortion care:

Two Years Post-Roe: Uniting to Turn the Tide as Patients,
Providers & Medical Education Face Growing Risks
Friday, June 21, 6:30pm – 8:30pm ET

Claiming a deep connection to the tactic of teach-ins for racial and gender justice during the Civil Rights era and to end the Vietnam War, we are intentionally embracing education as the practice of freedom (bell hooks) and using this teach-in as an opportunity to advance liberatory learning for future physicians.

Co-hosted by the AMSA Reproductive Health Project and Medical Students for Choice (MSFC), this teach-in event will feature a 90-minute expert panel discussion with Q/A followed by optional 30-minute advocacy skills-building breakouts. This is an evening to connect our knowledge, anger, and values with our collective power to take action in the fight for reproductive freedom and justice.

You won’t want to miss this evening of community-building to connect our knowledge, anger, and values with our collective power to take action in the fight for reproductive freedom and justice. First 50 AMSA members to register and attend will receive a free set of Heart-to-Heart Abortion Conversation Cards, published by the National Network of Abortion Funds (NNAF)!
