This patient has Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, a hereditary peripheral neuropathy that affects myelinated neurons. Common signs of this illness include reduced power in affected extremities and a loss of distal reflexes. Nerve conduction studies and genetic testing should be included in the workup.
