Shan is a second-year medical student at the NYIT College Of Osteopathic Medicine. She graduated from Stony Brook University with a degree in Biochemistry. Since her first year of medical school, she has been involved with AMSA in the Scholar Program, Environmental Health Action Committee, and later elected the Scholar Program Chair. Shan believes AMSA foster a community of future physicians through education and advocacy. Her areas of special advocacy interest include environmental justice, public health, and medical education. As the Scholar Program Chair, she is committed to build connections between medical education and advocacy so people can use what they learned to better make changes. Outside of school, her interests include exercising, dancing and watching movies.
