Sujay Ratna

Vice President for Membership

Sujay Ratna is a first-year medical student at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. He graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Rutgers University where he earned a B.S. in Biology, with minors in sociology and chemistry. On-campus, Sujay was a teaching assistant for general physics, a peer tutor, and the Co-Founder and President of South Asian Appreciation for Tradition & Heritage. Furthermore, he was selected as a national finalist for the Gates-Cambridge, Marshall, and Truman Scholarships. During his gap year, he conducted research on Stimulated Raman Histology and artificial intelligence for intraoperative imaging in neurosurgery and interventional pulmonology at NYU Langone. This is Sujay’s fourth year as an AMSA national leader, serving as a membership director before joining the Board of Trustees as Premedical Trustee. In his free time, he enjoys playing baseball, watching Jeopardy!, and following Kansas City sports teams. Sujay looks forward to expanding AMSA’s advocacy efforts and membership.
