AM2015 General Assembly

Interested in a unique opportunity to represent AMSA in an international forum?! Ready to get inspired through an exchange of ideas, networking opportunities, and interesting programming geared towards global health issues?! Then apply to be a part of the AMSA delegation to the August General Assembly of the International Federation of Medical Student’s Associations!

The IFMSA was founded in 1951 as an organization representing associations of medical students from across the globe, and it currently represents 108 National Member Organizations from 103 countries across six continents. IFMSA’s mission “… is to offer future physicians a comprehensive introduction to global health issues. Through our programming and opportunities, we develop culturally sensitive students of medicine, intent on influencing the trans-national inequalities that shape the health of our planet.” As an AMSA member you are a part of this amazing network of future physicians and attending a General Assembly (GA) is an excellent opportunity to advance both your leadership abilities and your global awareness.

The AMSA IFMSA Advisory Council would like to formally invite you to apply for the 2015 AMSA delegation to the August General Assembly of the International Federation of Medical Students’ Associations (IFMSA), which will be held this year in Ohrid, Macedonia from August 3-9. The Theme for this event is “Migration of Health Workers.” The themed workshops will cover several topics: from the lack of proper working conditions and environment faced by some, to the “brain drain” that is a result of active workforce recruitment from some countries. I for one am very excited and I hope that some of you will join me in Macedonia! Additional information can be found here: AM2015 Invitation Package,
AM2015 Macedonia Website,
AM2015 Facebook, and AM2015 Instagram.

Expected total expenses for this event are approximately $2000. Registration cost is approximately $538 USD (all costs are in Euro and are subject to the current exchange rate). Note that registration for this event is all inclusive of room/board, food, and evening entertainment.

Also, you’ll find an attached fundraising letter for use in obtaining funds from your institution to support your attendance at this event.
