I AM A LOOKING TO GO

Marcela Trocha

Chair

Marcela Trocha is a third year medical student at Poznan University of Medical Sciences in Poznan, Poland. She grew up in New England and received a bachelor’s degree in physiology and neurobiology from the University of Connecticut. Before starting medical school, Marcela spent a year in American Samoa teaching high school science, where she became passionate about public health and advocacy. That led her to pursue a masters of research science in global health from the Vrije University in Amsterdam, where she focused on issues in reproductive and sexual health. As global health action committee chair, she hopes to bring more awareness to topics around global health, and encourage members to deepen their knowledge in the field. In her free time, Marcela loves to crochet, cuddle with her cat, or go for long bike rides. She loves talking with people about things they feel passionate about, so feel free to reach out to her with questions or just to chat!
