I AM A LOOKING TO GO

David Wright, MD, MS

Editorial Adviser

David Wright is a recent graduate of American University of Integrative Sciences with an MS in Maharishi Ayurveda & Integrative Medicine from Maharishi International University, where he currently teaches for the program. Born and raised in Raleigh, N.C., he moved to Miami, Florida, at the age of 20 to complete his undergraduate degree. During this period of big-city living, David endured several personal struggles – mentally, physically, and spiritually – which sparked a profound passion for integrated approaches to health and wellness. While studying and employing holistic modalities to restore vitality to his own body and mind, most notably Transcendental Meditation, David became conscious of the paradigm shifts occurring in healthcare systems and the opportunities for innovation, education, and promotion of these models of health. With a newfound awareness of purpose and reinvigorated enthusiasm, he enrolled in a dual-degree MD/MS program rooted in integrative medicine. With a forward-looking approach to the collective consciousness of society, David insists that merely surviving misses the deeper fulfillment available to all people – we deserve to thrive! He looks forward to sharing, learning, and discussing these topics as a program director for AMSA’s Integrative Medicine Scholars Program.
