Overview

Welcome to the Premed Mentorship Program. We connect premed students with medical students across the nation. Premeds have the chance to build lasting relationships with a medical student in the US and have all of their questions answered.

Becoming an impactful medical student and med AMSA member is more than just good study techniques and our medical AMSA members will coach you through the process of becoming successful. Premed students can also learn how to maximize their use of the opportunities within AMSA and learn how to engage the organization on a whole new level. AMSA National has something for everyone, and your mentor will help you find where you fit in! All program participants will be exposed to the different branches of AMSA in a step-by-step, low-stress program.

Our Mentors

All mentors are domestic MD/DO medical students and experienced AMSA members. After completing a survey about your interests and needs in a mentor, you will be matched with a hand-picked mentor who is the best fit to help you.

What is the schedule for the program?

The program is on a Fall, Spring, and Summer schedule that lines up with the schedule of most US universities. The hourly commitment is set by the mentor and the mentee. This program gives students the freedom to mold the mentorship to their unique needs and schedule.

What type of curriculum does the program use?

Every two weeks, mentorship pairs are sent “optional curriculum” to jump-start their conversations and give structure. One week is dedicated to the different elements of being a successful student and the second week is dedicated to the elements of being a successful and impactful AMSA member. These biweekly newsletters contain tools for success that are all available for free online. But, if the conversation is flowing smoothly, they can be saved for later!
