Humanistic Elective in Activism,
Reflective Transformation, and Integrative Medicine (HEART-IM)

- APPLICATION DEADLINE September 15, 2019. Applications will be considered for acceptance on a rolling basis until September 15, 2019. Those who apply by July 31 will be reviewed first. If positions remain, additional applications will be considered on a rolling basis. Upon reviewing your application we will inform you as to whether you have been accepted or deferred. We will select applicants based on their insight, passion, interest, and experience in four areas: integrative medicine, activism, self-reflection, and community presence. The following questions are based upon criteria required of all students applying to electives sponsored by the University of New Mexico School of Medicine.
For accreditation purposes, all HEART-IM participants must meet these criteria. Please email HEART@amsa.org with any questions.
If you are not a US Citizen, we regret that we will not be able to consider your application.
If you are not a student of allopathic or osteopathic medicine, we regret that we will not be able to consider your application.
If you will not be in your final year of training during the April 2020 HEART-IM elective, we regret that we will not be able to consider your application.
