Komi is a second-year medical student at St George’s University. He received a BSc. in Biology from the University of Nebraska and completed graduate-level work at Western Illinois University. Komi is also a ASCP-board certified Medical Laboratory Scientist and came to medicine after a successful career in Laboratory Medicine. He is passionate about social justice issues including the central role of the physician as an advocate for the poor and less fortunate. In his role as the Programming coordinator of the Professionalism & Ethics committee, he will contribute to the development of AMSA members into consummate professionals and ethically sound physicians. Apart from his medical studies, Komi is an avid traveler, outdoorsman, a passionate of photography, and an avid reader of non-fiction. His favorite writers are Ernest Hemingway and Albert Camus.
