Halea Meese is a fourth year medical student at the University of Colorado School of Medicine intending to pursue a career in rural primary care. Throughout medical school she has held leadership positions within the #ProtectOurPatients campaign, Colorado Medical Society, and the American Medical Association. She is interested in improving health care access and believes that a core ingredient of which is improving physician- and future physician-voter turnout. She could not be more excited to serve as co-chair of the Med Out the Vote Campaign and looks forward to working with medical students nationwide to increase the number of schools offering protected time off for voting, awareness of absentee, online and vote by mail options and many other initiatives. She looks forward to working with the entire Med Out the Vote team and hearing ideas from the thousands of AMSA members nationally. When she’s not working on something inside, you can find her trail running, rock climbing, skiing or mountain biking around Colorado.
