Hanan Rakine recently graduated from Wayne State University Irvin D. Reid Honors College with a B.S. in Public Health with Departmental and University Honors and is beginning medical school in 2020. She is currently the AMSA Healthcare for All Campaign Chair-Elect and National Arab American Medical Association (NAAMA) NextGen President. Hanan uses both of these outlets to fight for health equity and social justice for underrepresented and disadvantaged communities. She is also the CEO of the Detroit Ronald McDonald House Care Mobile, a mobile van that will bring free health care services to children in the metro-Detroit area in 2020. Hanan currently researches at the University of Michigan Medical School with intentions to reduce health disparities, highlight healthcare needs, and fight stigma within the Arab American community to improve health outcomes. Her intention is to pair her passion for mentorship with a world-class medical education to buoy the health status of marginalized communities
