Evan Johnson is a rising M4 at the University of Central Florida College of Medicine.
Prior to attending medical school, Evan graduated summa cum laude from the University of South Florida Honors College with a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences.
During his college years, Evan served as a Student Government Senator, Resident Assistant, Orientation Leader, and Civic Engagement Board member. He also volunteered at Moffitt Cancer Center and with Big Brothers Big Sisters Tampa Bay. In medical school, Evan has been the Vice President of his class for 3 years, a UCF representative for the AAMC Organization of Student Representatives, as well as regularly volunteering at his school’s free student run Knight’s Clinic and Chapman Clinic. Evan is particularly interested in academic medicine due to his experiences with teaching and tutoring at his medical school and being active with research publications. This interest led him to get involved with AMSA’s Medical Education Team to advocate for student academic concerns and initiatives. He saw this as an opportunity to make a positive impact on a larger scale, especially now amidst the pandemic academic disruptions. Additionally, he wanted to round out his final year of medical school by gaining experience within a national organization such as AMSA that would develop his leadership skills for future professional involvement. He is excited to work on student organized initiatives with the Med Ed team and the year to come.
In his free time, Evan likes listening to music, traveling, hiking, and cooking.
