Ellen Douglass is a senior majoring in Biology and minoring in Chemistry and Public Health at California State University, Fresno. Throughout her undergraduate career she has been actively involved in her AMSA CSU Fresno Chapter, serving as co-president for the 2014-2015 and 2015-2016 academic years. Ellen has found it immensely rewarding to help grow her AMSA CSU Fresno Chapter and help premedical students through their path to medicine. For the past two years she has coordinated with the UCSF Fresno Latino Center for Medical Education and Research to plan AMSA outreach and diabetes education presentations at their health conferences for high school students. Ellen greatly looks forward to using her experience to help the success and growth of Region V AMSA premedical chapters.
After graduation she aims to attend medical school and serve underserved communities. As an avid reader and learner she looks forward to the lifelong learning that accompanies serving through medicine. Ellen also enjoys gaining a closer look into the medical field as a medical scribe in the emergency department. In her free time, Ellen enjoys playing tennis, having tea, hiking, and nature photography.
