Catherine LaSpina is currently a joint BS/MS student at Kent State University who will graduate with her Bachelors of Science in Biochemistry in August 2016 followed by her Masters of Science in Biochemistry in May 2017. She then hopes to matriculate into medical school in Fall 2017. She became involved in Kent State University’s local chapter of AMSA her first year on campus and her second year served as the social media coordinator along with giving monthly medical current events. The following year, she served as a Co-President and this year she will be the graduate advisor for her local chapter while simultaneously holding a National Leadership Position.
Catherine made President’s list four semesters in a row and will be graduating with highest honors, Summa cum laude. Through her research, she has published one paper and presented at four poster sessions. In her spare time, Catherine enjoys volunteering at a free clinic, dancing and snowboarding.
