Carlos Quinonez, MPH
Carlos is a third-year medical student at the Medical University of Lublin, Poland. Prior to medical school, Carlos earned a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences and a Master of Public Health (MPH) – Health Promotion and Disease Prevention – from Florida International University (FIU). During his MPH studies, Carlos completed an internship with Baptist Hospital of South Florida in the Department of Community Health. During his time with Baptist Hospital, he developed a passion for serving his local community and discovered a spark that lead him to an interest in preventive and community health.
For his active volunteerism and academic achievements, Carlos was awarded the Excellence in Civic Engagement Medallion of Distinction from FIU. Carlos is also involved with the American Public Health Association (APHA). He was recently elected to serve a two-year term as a governing councilor to provide representation on behalf of the APHA student assembly. Carlos is very excited to have been re-elected to the position of International Regional Director, as he plans to continue on expanding the AMSA network all around the world. In his spare time, Carlos enjoys spending time with his beautiful wife and two wonderful kids.
