Provides consumer information as well as research data on women's health concerns such as breast cancer, hysterectomies, and health care for minority women.

Alan Guttmacher Institute
The Alan Guttmacher Institute conducts extensive analyses of reproductive policy and practice in the US and around the world. Their web site offers detailed statistics on reproductive health, pregnancy, birth and abortion. It's a gold mine for any research project on reproductive health.

American Heart Association
Resources for consumers and physicians on women and heart disease and stroke. Your local AHA office can recommend local physicians to speak on related topics.

American Medical Women's Association
Representing 10,000 women physicians and medical students, AMWA is a great resource for speakers, information, mentors and networking. Students can join and will receive the Journal of the American Medical Women's Association (JAMWA). Student members can also compete for AMWA scholarships and loans.

AWIS provides networking, mentoring, leadership workshops, and scholarship funding for women in basic science.

Association of Reproductive Health Professionals
ARHP sponsors conferences, CME programs, publications and patient education materials on reproductive health, contraception, adolescent health and related topics.

Association of Women Surgeons
A group committed to inspire, encourage and enable women surgeons to realize their professional and personal goals. Students can join for $10, and receive a free copy of "The Pocket Mentor," with advice on how to succeed in surgical residency. The full text of The Pocket Mentor is available on the AWS web site.

Center for Reproductive Law and Policy
The Center for Reproductive Law and Policy (CRLP) is a non-profit legal and policy advocacy organization dedicated to promoting women's reproductive rights in the US and on the international level. Their web site includes extensive resources on reproductive issues.

With 250,000 members, NOW is one of the strong-arms of the women's movement. Membership includes newsletters.

National Women’s Health Network
Membership offers a bimonthly newsletter, a Women’s Health Information Service.

National Women's Health Resource Center, Inc.
Membership includes Health Report published 6 times/yr and other publications. They have "Women's Health Fact Sheets," personalized health information searches, and the HealthyWomen Database- "to refer people to women-friendly health centers, support groups and organizations worldwide."

New Moon Publishing
Distributes magazines and books written by and for young adolescent women. The group also produces a newsletter for parents, and moderates an internet discussion list.

Planned Parenthood Federation of America
Planned Parenthood has national offices in Chicago, New York, San Francisco and Washington DC. Their web site provides detailed information on the organization's history, reproductive health, and legislation affecting reproductive rights. Visitors can sign up for the Responsible Choices Action Network to receive alerts on local and national policy affecting reproductive rights issues.

Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice
A national coalition of religious leaders, RCRC provides pamphlets and information on choice from a faith perspective. Contact the national office for information on how to get in touch with your local chapter.
