Summary of project We hosted a display of the AIDS Memorial Quilt in the cafeteria of our medical school building for one week in order to raise AIDS awareness. One of the nights we held a reception with two speakers: One was a physician who talked about his first HIV positive patient in the early 1980's and the second speaker was a woman from the Detroit area who spoke about her experience being HIV+. The reception was open to medical students, physicians, community members, etc. Anybody could come to see the Quilt and hear the speakers talk.
