Date completed 05/2005
Chapter Boston University SOM
Project Coordinator Dustin Petersen
Summary of project A brief video from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation describing the problem of the uninsured in the US, along with interviews of individuals who are uninsured, physicians, and health care advocates was shown. It's a great video, about 7 min long. I call it the 'Closer Walk' video for UHC.

Dr. Goodson from the Committee for Health Care for Massachusetts then spoke about proposed legislation to address the issue of inadequate health care access in Massachusetts. He touched on four plans sponsored by various legislators, as well as a Constitutional amendment that would make "affordable and comprehensive health insurance" a right for all MA residents.

We served food, invited students and faculty from the medical school and school of public health, and listed the event on the Cover The Uninsured Week website (www.covertheuninsured.com). We also had a table in the lobby of the med school for a few hours during the week, where we handed out materials that we had ordered for FREE from the Cover The Uninsured Week website (stickers, one-page fact sheets, and half-page flyers).
