Summary of project The first clinical chair of a medical department in the history of Wayne State spoke about women who have helped changed the face of medicine. She gave the history or women in medicine and their progress, and talked about how to advance yourself and to become a leader in medicine. The talk was about 30 minutes followed by an interactive Q and A.

Lessons/suggestions Dr. Schenk was an excellent speaker and I learned a lot about the history of women in medicine. It made me appreciate being a female in medical school and opened my eyes to the inequality that still exists. Shirts were also sold prior to the speaker to he
