| Summary of project | Dr. Nick Gorton, a transgendered ER physician from California gave two seperate lectures. The first was a general overview of LGBT issues and health disparities faced within the community. The second was a focused discussion on Transgender Medicine. This session was interactive with case presentations that really help with medical education on the topic that most schools do not offer. Dr. Gorton was gracious enough to cover all costs for coming to our school which made the event possible. Lastly, since we have satellite campuses, we had a live broadcast of his Transgender Medicine 101 talk to other cities. |

| Project advertising | Posters were made for the entire LGBT Health Week and posted throughout the medical school and HSC as well as local coffee shops that are popular study spots. Also, emails were sent out to the classes reminding them of the events. These methods of advertising were effect. Class announcements would have helped as well. |

| Lessons/suggestions | I made the most of Dr. Gorton's visit by scheduling other presentations for him at the undergraduate campus. Also, we tied his talk into our first ever LGBT Health Week to have an entire week focused on such issues. |
| ADDITIONAL COMMENTS | |
| Comments | It's really easy to get done. It just depends on your schedule and Dr. Gorton's schedule. Although he does not accept any monetary contribution it is nice to give him a little something for taking the trouble to come to your school and offer his time so generously. Dr. Gorton is a very passionate man and offered some invaluable insight into the transgender world. |
