Summary of project It was a Career/Health fair at the University of Missouri-Kansas City on October 2nd from 1 - 4 pm. Representatives from different Medical schools and other Health related schools came to UMKC and had display tables where they provided information of their schools to the students. We also had the KC Free Health Clinic, the UMKC Women's Health and Wellness Center, and UMKC Women's Center. These Health Centers provided information about their services, and other health issues. Free Blood pressure screenings were provided as well. For entertainment, we had a musician playing the guitar in the background and free healthy food, beverages, and snacks to give away to students. We believe this event informed students about possibilities for future schooling, and it spread awareness about health issues and gave them somewhere to turn. It was the first Career/Health Fair held by the Pre-medical Society at UMKC.

Lessons/suggestions This event was meant to be outside, but it's always good to have a rain location. We had one, and it did rain. To replicate this event, make a list of schools you want to invite. Let them know far in advance when and where it's going to be. Secure a location at the correct time and date. Secure funds for any kind of health food and other purchases. Coordinate with members of your society to present the fair. Make sure that the event is advertised well.
