| Summary of project | Through a collaboration with the AMSA pre-med chapter at UVa, Dr. Patch Adams came and spoke at several locations throughout Charlottesville and at UVa. He spoke to the medical students on the joy of caring and healthcare provider burnout. His $20,000 speaker fee which went to fund a clinic in El Salvador was raised through projects and sponsorship. |

| Lessons/suggestions | The event was made possible through our work with the AMSA pre-med members who worked to raise a great deal of fund to bring Dr. Patch Adams to UVa. This would be a challenging event for a group to take on without significant planning due to the cost of bringing him to speak. |
