| Summary of project | Over 30 faculty and administrative persons plus over 30 students bought tickets to attend the wine tasting at an upscale restaurant/wine bar called Bistro Zin. Faculty members presented three fine wines that were served with appropriate appetizers such as warm brie and calamari. The presentations were thoughtful and clever, including a song to the tune of 'Que Sera' in reference to the Syrah being tasted. Students and faculty mingled on a decorated private patio. The cost was $13 per person (wine was sold to us at wholesale cost), students were charged $15, faculty $35. Overall, we raised $760. Tickets were sold in our college of medicine Special Events office. Faculty and students alike loved the event and said they would look forward to attending again next year. We worked with the college of medicine Wine Club this year to assure a fabulous turn out and successful event. They were helpful and we enjoyed working with them. |
