Summary of project We started up a partnership with the local Hospice and Palliative Care Center to have several training sessions (including watching videos, completing applications, taking pictures for ID badges, taking quizzes, etc) on campus so our fellow AMSA members can have the opportunity to volunteer at the Hospice center. Their responsibilities include checking vitals on patients, shadowing physicians, and much more. It was a great success!

Project advertising The project was advertised using "E-Net" where all Elon students are able to access what volunteering opportunities are available as well as sent out mass e-mails using Blackboard to all pre-health students which was extremely effective considering we had

Lessons/suggestions It could have been easier to have the prospective volunteers be allowed to rent out the training DVDs instead but that all depends on the organization you are volunteering with. In order to replicate this, I recommend having only one or two individuals in

Comments Others should know to replicate this that they should never hesitate to reach out to organizations such as a Hospice facility because you never know what benefits you'll find from volunteering at a place like this!
