Summary of project Local health professional students will participate in a panel discussion with distinguished faculty and physicians to explore the underlying cause of gender disparity in medicine, especially within competitive specialties, leadership positions, and academic appointments. The discussion will also highlight the past obstacles female leaders in medicine have overcome, the challenges that remain today and the role that the students, as well as the medical community play in resolving these disparities.

Project advertising Flyers were distributed throughout the classrooms and student center. Postings on classroom black boards as well as emails were also helpful.

Lessons/suggestions In addition to a general discussion, our audience would like to have more seminars in the future focusing on specific topics such as self-promotion, family, and leadership.
