Summary of project To help serve as a health resource for the local Vallejo community by addressing health care concerns by way of poster presentations and health screening, teenagers from 3 local high schools were invited to Touro’s campus for the Teen Life Conference. It was directed by Touro students of Osteopathic Medicine, Pharmacy, and Physicians Assistant who chose a topic of interest, gave a PowerPoint Presentation, and submitted an abstract and poster. The presentations included: Osteopathic Medicine, College Planning, Allergies/Asthma, Diabetes, Antibiotic Use, Drugs/Alcohol/Smoking, Depression, Teen Pregnancy, STD’s, Nutrition/Fitness. Health screenings were provided. This conference was a tremendous success at Touro and gave Touro students a chance to reach out to local high school students and address topics of health maintenance/screenings, healthcare careers, and guidance in planning for their futures.
