| Summary of project | Events on World AIDS Day included: an international video conference on HIV/AIDS (organized by Americans for Informed Democracy); distribution of condoms and HIV testing information at a local bar; and red ribbon fundraising at the medical school. Throughout the next week (Yale AIDS Week) events included: lecture on microbicides and methods of HIV transmission, panel of experts working with HIV patients speaking on how to advocate for our patients with HIV and what resources are available to patients outside the clinical setting; panel on global AIDS with representatives from PHR, Universities Allied for Essential Medicines, and Ethiopia Hospital Management Initiative; wine and cheese reception on "Reflection on the Global AIDS Epidemic and the Response." Throughout the week, we also had a large canvas with paints available for a community art project--people left their hand prints and thoughts on the canvas entitled "An HIV-free generation begins with us..." Throughout the week, we raised $700, which was split equally in donations for AIDS Project New Haven and the Global Fund. |

| Lessons/suggestions | We should not have left the paints overnight at the art canvas because they were stollen toward the end of the week. Also, all our speaker events and panels were over dinner, which helped with attendance. |
