| Summary of project | In solidarity with AMSA, PHR, and SGAC, our chapter at UIC decided to participate in a nation-wide "empty white coat demonstration." This event displayed medical students' white coats and represented the missing health care workers in Africa. This display supported AMSA's goal of passing a bill to provide $8 Billion over the next 5 years for training and retaining healthcare workers in Africa. |

| Lessons/suggestions | We could have displayed more coats in the lobby of the college of medicine, but we had issues with some deans who thought that it would be a fire hazard. If we had more time, we could have a table to get interested individuals in signing a petition to their representative to ask support for a bill that provides 8 billion over 5 years for healtchare workers in Africa. |
