Summary of project We set up a table in a high-traffic area of the med school and "bribed" people (with homemade cookies) to call Senator Frist, urging him to support full funding for the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, TB, and Malaria. We provided phone numbers for the senator's office, as well as scripts and talking points that people could use.

Funding breakdown of sources and/or donations:
Project advertising We sent an email telling people about the event, then another reminder one. And we announced in the first and second year classes. But since we were in the building lobby, our location was sufficient advertising.
Success rating
(1 = unsuccesful, 5 = very successful)
Lessons/suggestions We had a fairly good success rate, with a total of about 50 phone calls in 6 hours. Part of the problem was that there were long periods of time with no one at the table, since we were in class; it would be good to have a continuous presence to encourage

Comments The three people leading the project also wore homemade tee-shirts that said "Save the Global Fund" on the day of the event - another great way of advertising!
