Characteristics of Uninsured
- Work Status
- Eight out of every ten uninsured people are members of families with at least one wage earner, and six out of every ten uninsured people are wage earners themselves.

- Income Status
- Two-thirds of all uninsured persons are members of lower-income families (earning less than 200 percent of the federal poverty level).
