Characteristics of Uninsured

Work Status
Eight out of every ten uninsured people are members of families with at least one wage earner, and six out of every ten uninsured people are wage earners themselves.
 
Income Status
Two-thirds of all uninsured persons are members of lower-income families (earning less than 200 percent of the federal poverty level).
