AMSA's "Breaking Barriers" Module Series
Breaking Barriers is a module designed to educate medical students on the barriers to healthcare so that they may better serve all patient populations. This multimedia tool includes case studies and three interactive modules that focus on health disparities among vulnerable populations. These modules are designed as a peer education tool and offer students strategies on how to break down barriers to healthcare within certain populations.

Office of Minority Health
The mission of the Office of Minority Health (OMH) is to improve and protect the health of racial and ethnic minority populations through the development of health policies and programs that will eliminate health disparities. OMH was established in 1986 by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).

State Children's Health Insurance Program
The State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP) is a partnership between the federal government and states designed to provide health insurance coverage for low-income children under age 19 who are not eligible for Medicaid.
The Children's Defense Fund's Student Health Outreach (SHOUT) Project
The CDF SHOUT program (Student Health Outreachâ„¢ Project) is a student-run program of the Children's Defense Fund that strives to ensure that all of our nation's children have access to the health care they deserve. Includes a SHOUT toolkit and information on how students can become involved.

The Association of State and Territorial Health Officials (ASTHO) is the national nonprofit organization representing the state and territorial public health agencies of the United States, the U.S. Territories, and the District of Columbia.
