Mission
The Tom Dooley Society, UASOM has the following mission objectives: -To increase the awareness of prejudices and misconceptions concerning LGBT people that act as a barrier to education and patient care.
-To provide a safe and supportive environment for LGBT medical students, advocating for their rights and providing resources to make their medical education a positive experience.
-To advocate the inclusion of LGBT issues in medical education as a means to improve physician sensitivity to patient needs.
-To maximize the quality of health services for LGBT people.
