Welcome to KCUMB's homepage!
SAFE's mission to support GLBT medical students, by providing a safe and supportive environment and providing resources to make their medical education a positive experience; advocate for GLBT patients, by inclusion of GLBT health issues in medical school curriculum and improving the quality of patient care through physician sensitivity; to break down the prejudices and misconceptions concerning GLBT people that act as a barrier to education and patient care, by providing medical students with the resources and tools they need to be advocates for GLBT patients and peers at their institution; and to ensure that medicine reflects the diversity of society, with diversity including but not limited to differences in age, culture, national origin, race/ethnicity, sexual orientation and gender identity, gender and disability.
