Welcome to LECOM's homepage!
The mission of the Gay Straight Diversity Alliance at LECOM will be (1) to support gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender health professions students by providing a safe and supportive environment, advocating for their rights against discrimination, and providing resources to make their osteopathic medical education a positive experience, (2) to advocate for GLBT patients and other at-risk minorities, by advocating the inclusion of pertinent health issues in school curricula and improving the quality of patient care through physician sensitivity, and (3) to break down the prejudices and misconceptions concerning GLBT people that act as a barrier to education and patient care.
