NATIONAL CONVENTION! COME ON OUT MARCH 7-11, 2007!
It is time of year again! AMSA's annual National Convention is this month and every year attracts 20-50 LGBTPM'ers from across the nation. From LGBTPM original academic programming and workshops to the always fabulous GLMA Reception, Residency Panel Dinner, and Girlz/Boyz nights OUT, you are guaranteed to find relief from studying or clinics!

Don't miss the traditional LGBTPM Welcome Mixer in the Presidential Suite Thursday night of convention weekend! Crowning LGBTPM's events at Convention is the presentation of the AMSA/GLMA Health Achievement Award on Sunday.

NATIONAL CONVENTION WRAP UP!
It is always sad to say goodbye to the many old friends reunited and new friends made at AMSA's annual National Convention! Don't let convention time be your last act of advocacy or reaching out to other LGBTPM'ers! Keep in touch by joining the LGBT Listserve, volunteering to be a National or Regional Leader, or bring LGBT ideas to your own campus! CONGRATS TO OUR GRADS!
Congratulations to our MS4's who have just matched!! Now that you are graduating from medical school and moving on to your future Residency Program, take a moment to visit LGBTPM's Alumni Website and register in our Alumni Directory! LGBTPM has been blessed with a tradition of strong leadership and community support. Don't let graduation mark the end of your activity in LGBTPM! PRIDE FESTIVALS and GAY FILM FESTIVALS!
The summer months have become the time for LGBT communities across the nation to honor and celebrate the Stone Wall riots of 1969 in New York City, the catalyst of the Gay Civil Rights Movement. Show your support of your LGBT friends, peers, and patients by attending a PRIDE Parade, PRIDE Festival, or Gay and Lesbian Film Festival this summer! Welcome back to another exciting LGBT year! We have several ongoing projects, like the National Inclusion Campaign and the National Chapters Directory. There are many ways to get involved! LGBTPM is made possible by individuals like you!

Each year AMSA and GLMA recognize a medical student or group for exemplary achievement in advocating the inclusion of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) health issues within their medical school. AMSA LGBT HEALTH AWARD! LAST CALL!
It's not too late to apply for the AMSA/GLMA Health Achievement Award! The award will be presented to the award winners at AMSA's National Convention in March, as well as at GLMA's conference. The award winner's accomplishments will also be published in AMSA's magazine The New Physician and the quarterly GLMA Report. NATIONAL CONVENTION! SAVE THE DATE!
AMSA's annual National Convention is NEXT MONTH! Each spring, up to 50 LGBTPM'ers from across the nation join fellow AMSA members at the National Convention to be inspired by speakers, learn from workshops, and have a blast meeting fellow LGBT medical students at nighttime social events. By forging new friendships and creating an LGBT community within AMSA, LGBTPM'ers leave convention with a new sense of empowerment and advocacy.
