Health and Human Rights
"It is my aspiration that health will finally be seen not as a blessing to be wished for, but as a human right to be fought for."
     - Kofi Annan, UN Secretary General

We, as human beings, have a worth that is inseparable from our human nature. This worth is evident in our human qualities: our free will, our conscience, language, and abstract reasoning. Human rights are the protection of human dignity, and include economic, cultural and social rights as well as civil and political rights.

As stated in the 1948 UN Declaration of Human Rights, Article 1: All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood.
