Health Disparities Fact Sheets
These fact sheets are quick summaries of specific data that may be useful to inform people quickly about the nature of the problem of health disparities.
- Physicians for Human Rights has developed fact sheets on disparities. Topics include amputation, asthma, cancer, heart disease, HIV/AIDS and pain management. They also have one page on the causes of disparities. PHR also has a fact sheet that summarizes two important pieces of law that are already on the books.
- The Kaiser Family Foundation has published Racial/Ethnic Differences in Cardiac Care: The Weight of the Evidence in conjunction with a number of other institutions. This is a four-page summary of the report that captures the essence of their findings in bullets and on graphs.
- The American Public Health Association has created an impressive clearinghouse of fact sheets across a broad range of diseases, disabilities, environmental factors, demographic characteristics, health literacy, infant mortality, and geographic location. There are also fact sheets addressing solutions for some of these problems and state-specific information. Both Spanish and English versions are available.
