    DanceSafe
    Working to promote health and safety in the rave and nightclub community. Fact-based drug information, info for parents, pill-testing information and more.

    Rave Safe
    South African site, very comprehensive, with safety tips, safer use instruction, and info on specific drugs. There is also a section called the BrainboX, which compiles peer-reviewed articles on illicit drugs and writes easy-to-comprehend reviews of the articles for drug users.

    The Anti-Drug

    Drug information, a research section, and a referral service to treatment programs.

    HEALTH INFORMATION FOR DRUG USERS AND THEIR HEALTHCARE PROVIDERS

    Please visit http://www.harmreduction.org for information about overdose prevention and treatment, safer injection techniques and vein care, hepatitis C, interactions between HIV medications and street drugs, and more. The site has downloadable brochures, links to articles in medical journals, and many other resources. You can also download the Harm Reduction Coalition's Straight Dope drug education series.

    HARM REDUCTION

    The Harm Reduction Coalition defines Harm Reduction as "a set of practical strategies that reduce negative consequences of drug use, incorporating a spectrum of strategies from safer use, to managed use to abstinence. Harm reduction strategies meet drug users "where they're at," addressing conditions of use along with the use itself."     The Harm Reduction Coalition
    Enormous site that introduces principles of harm reduction, as well as strategies for users and providers. Downloadable educational materials, conference listings, and policy information.

    The Project on Harm Reduction in the Health Care System
    The Project on Harm Reduction in the Health Care System investigates the prescribing and dispensing of sterile injection equipment as one strategy for reducing harm to injection drug users who cannot or will not enter drug treatment. It aims to promote effective disease prevention and care among injection drug users, their partners and their children by identifying the legal factors that influence their health.

    North American Syringe Exchange Network
    www.nasen.org "Dedicated to the creation, expansion and continued existence of syringe exchange programs as a proven method of stopping the transmission of blood borne pathogens in the injecting drug using community."

    Chicago Recovery Alliance
    A racially and ethnically diverse group composed of people living with HIV and drug use, working in addiction treatment, healthcare, law, education, and assorted other areas…The Chicago Recovery Alliance is an action organization for those interested in directly supporting, serving, educating and advocating with others for reducing drug-related harms.

    Lower East Side Harm Reduction Center
    Primary objectives of our harm reduction efforts have been to decrease risk factors such as syringe sharing among injection drug users and to educate them about other ways to reduce their risk. An equally important concern has been reducing the harmful impact of drug use on individuals, their families, their friends, and the community.

    Dedicated to providing parents of adolescents with honest, science-based information about drugs. A project of the Drug Policy Alliance.     Just started a new campaign called "How to Talk to Your Parents About Drugs" which seeks to improve parent/child communication, trust and honesty around substance use issues.

    Health Initiatives for Youth
    Our mission is to improve the health and well-being of young people by empowering them through education, advocacy and leadership opportunities…HIFY believes:

    A San Francisco Bay Area- based community organization that produces zines, publications, trainings and workshops to help youth become educated advocates for their own health.     Official program of the Australian government, advocating for safer injection sites and working with families of drug users all across Australia.

    A Vancouver-based group of families of drug users advocating for comprehensive substance use treatment services and support for public health-based drug policies.

    Support for family members of alcoholics, based on the Alcoholics Anonymous model.

    goodparents, inc.
    Goodparents, inc. helps parents of teens raise healthy, resilient, responsible, and happy children. They provide parents and teens with information, tools, and skills to build lasting parent/child trust, communication and respect.

    DRUG POLICY REFORM

    Drug Policy Alliance
    The Alliance is the nation's leading organization working to end the war on drugs. We envision new drug policies based on science, compassion, health and human rights and a just society in which the fears, prejudices and punitive prohibitions of today are no more. Comprehensive site with fact sheets on the connections between the War on Drugs and race, women, the LGBT community and others. Large online library and bookstore, as well as many publications and reports. They are sponsoring a national drug policy conference in Long Beach, CA in November, 2005.

    Break The Chains
    The mission of Break the Chains (BTC) is to build a national movement within communities of color against punitive drug policies, with the ultimate aim of enacting alternative policies that promote racial justice, public health, and human rights.

    Sentencing Project
    Lots of concrete information, statistics, and reports on the impacts of drug policies in the United States, particularly in communities of color.

    The Drug Reform Coordination Network
    The Drug Reform Coordination Network was founded in 1993 and has grown into a major educational and advocacy organization and network of citizens working for reform of US drug laws and an end to prohibition, or legalization, worldwide.
