"Everyone has the right to a standard of living adequate for the health and well-being of himself and of his family, including food, clothing, housing and medical care and necessary social services, and the right to security in the event of unemployment, sickness, disability, widowhood, old age or other lack of livelihood in circumstances beyond his control."
-UN Declaration of Human Rights, Article 25
Recent history and research have shown that our nation's delivery of food, clothing, housing, medical care and necessary social services is unjustly divided across social and economic lines with the greatest burden carried by the sick, homeless and those whose inheritance was poverty. It's time to let Justice & Liberty speak!

AMSA's Health Equity Campaign aspires to:
- develop a generation of physician-leaders of identifying equitable solutions to health disparities and equipped with grassroots organizing skills to take action
- shift the focus towards what unites us to engage communities to take civic action locally
- foster a national discussion of alternate visions for a Healthy Society & Equitable Health System rather than band-aid solutions
- pledge as many people, communities, politicians, medical providers and allied health professions to advocate for the goals articulated in the health equity pledge
