AMSA Healthcare for All Rally in Houston, TX

The American Medical Student Association invites you to the largest annual gathering of medical students in the United States!

This year's convention is held in Houston, Texas and focuses on a new era of physician advocacy: the evolution of physicians in training and our impact on the future and the awareness of the profession. We demand to be recognized by our social responsibility, duty and a commitment to our profession, our patients and our communities.

The Convention will highlight the paths of many different physician-leaders, women in medicine, and address how we as medical students can take the next step in the health care revolution!

On Wednesday, March 12, 2008, the convention will begin with an all-day pre-conference on health effects on the environment. Topics will include climate change, pollution, environmental racism and responsible urban development. Thursday through Saturday will feature amazing keynoters, more than 100 programs and workshops, AMSA's House of Delegates, and an exhibit hall. Don't forget AMSA's Annual Residency Fair and Specialty Showcase, poster session and Medical School Fair. This year, on Friday, you'll have the opportunity to rally and let your voice be heard. Sunday will mark the closing of our meeting.

You will have the chance to make your voice heard on important issues in medicine and speak your mind about AMSA policy in the House of Delegates. You will also have the opportunity to run for one of 100 national or regional AMSA leadership position on our board of trustees, action committees or interest groups.

Don't miss this opportunity to meet with like-minded medical students and AMSA alumni, and to find out why many physician leaders identify the AMSA Convention as a pivotal event in their future career as a physician leader.

Join us and feel what it means to be part of AMSA with colleagues, friends and fellow activists. I look forward to seeing you there!

--Michael Ehlert, MD, National President 2007-2008
