Candidates are encouraged to submit an online elective office application, cover letter and CV to the national office by the deadline date of January 12, 2009 (cover letter and CV combined can not exceed 4-pages total. Materials received on time will be distributed to delegates, posted online and distributed in the HOD. This early deadline allows chapters to review the candidates' credentials before the convention. Cover letters and CVs received after the deadline, but prior to February 13, 2009 will be posted online and distributed in the House of Delegates (with an indication of the late date received), but will not be distributed to delegates and chapter presidents. Cover letters and CVs received after February 12, 2009 will only be distributed in the House of Delegates.

On-site Deadline: March 13, 2009, 12:30 pm
The final deadline for candidates to announce their candidacy to the nominations committee is Friday at 12:30 pm at the annual convention.

You may also send a hard copy to the AMSA national office at AMSA Convention, 1902 Association Drive, Reston, VA, 20191. The cleaner, formatted copy must be received by the January 12, 2009, 11:59 pm EST deadline to be considered on time.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
Candidates for elective office should keep in mind that, if elected, they are expected to attend the MANDATORY joint meeting of new and old leadership on Sunday, March 15, 2009. Candidates planning to run for these positions should remain flexible when making their travel arrangements.
