55th Gala

Four decades of AMSA past presidents were on hand to celebrate 55 years of AMSA and the career of executive director Paul R. Wright at a festive anniversary gala.

Wright received a standing ovation and a commemorative sculpture from the association honoring his 35 years of service. He will retire from his post in 2006.

A LETTER FROM PAUL R. WRIGHT April 6, 2005 I would like to thank all the persons who sent cards and letters and old AMSA types, staff, friends and new AMSA types too, who attended the AMSA Gala and my good-bye dinner on Saturday evening during AMSA's 55th Annual meeting. It was a great celebration, and not an easy thing to say good-bye, but your support and smiling faces made things fulfilling and easier. I am truly grateful for the opportunity to have been your colleague during my time with AMSA. We accomplished many serious and wonderful endeavors together - much to be proud of and nothing to feel bad about.
