Welcome from the AMSA National President

Dear AMSA members and visitors,

Welcome to the American Medical Student Association’s website! On behalf of AMSA’s more than 68,000 members, I want to thank you for visiting the nation’s largest independent organization of physicians-in-training. AMSA is an entirely student-governed organization with a 57-year history of developing socially responsible physicians, serving and advocating for our patients and society, and improving medical education and the nation’s health. We have representation in every one of the allopathic and osteopathic medical schools in the U.S., and dozens of premedical campuses and international medical schools.

I invite you to explore our many projects and resources put together by over 110 national leaders, thousands of regional and chapter leaders, and members from all over the U.S. and the world. If you are new to our AMSA website, I encourage you to begin by exploring the following pages:

AMSA's 58th Annual Convention is next year in Houston, TX. The Convention will be held March 12-16. This convention will be the best yet. It is the largest annual gathering of physicians-in-training with over 1500 attendees expected. We will have fantastic programming and keynote sessions! Please visit our convention site for registration, schedules, and other information.

Finally, please feel free to contact me or any of the other national officers or staff members if you have any questions or comments. Our contact information can be found online. Thank you again for visiting our website, and I hope you have found our resources to be useful!

Sincerely,
Michael Ehlert, AMSA National President
