Kelly Thibert, DO, MPH
Kelly served as AMSA’s National President for the 2016-2017 leadership year. She spent the year spearheading the organization ensuring that the mission and goals were upheld. Her goals for the year included continuing to advance AMSA’s work on health care access, the opioid epidemic and understanding of osteopathic medicine. She also continued to engage members in advocacy and leadership on both the local and national levels. She was excited to work with members at every level of training and to meet all of these future leaders of medicine along the way.
Kelly graduated in 2016 from Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine, where she obtained her Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine and Masters of Public Health. Kelly received her undergraduate degree in Molecular and Microbiology and minor in Women’s Studies, at the University of Central Florida. During her undergraduate career she became heavily involved with AMSA on both a local and national level. Now in her tenth year of involvement with AMSA she still believes that the AMSA family helped her to realize that she could combine her love of medicine and humanism into one amazing career. Ever since she joined AMSA it has been her home away from home.
Kelly is a Florida native who now resides in Ohio where she is beginning her residency in Family Medicine. In her spare time, Kelly enjoys spending time with her fiance (Asia) and family, reading, running and dancing.
