You have to! AMSA's Annual Convention will be March 6-9th and it really is an event you don't want to miss. There are activities for everyone - those who like to have fun (social events and the city of New Orleans), those who like to debate policy (House of Delegates), those who like to network with high level physicians (our amazing speakers & keynotes)......
You will join hundreds of other future physicians and have the opportunity to learn from diverse speaker sessions and world-renowned thought leaders on topics such as gun violence as a public health issue, women’s health issues under the Affordable Care Act, conflict of interest and the relationship between physicians and drug representatives, and advocating for open access. You can also join small classroom clinical skill sessions with topics such as casting, suturing, airway management, and manual vacuum aspiration.
Keynote speakers include Dave deBronkart (a.k.a. e-Patient Dave), author, Let Patients Help: A Patient Engagement Handbook and Dr. Sheri Fink, author, Five Days at Memorial: Life and Death in a Storm-Ravaged Hospital. Check out all the keynote presentations here
Premeds can check out medical schools at the Pre-Health Fair.
