REGIONAL OFFICES
Medical Regional Directors
The position of Regional Director (RD) is one of the most vital in national AMSA. The RDs are elected by the chapters in their respective regions. RDs must attend and participate in the Board of Regional Directors Meeting as part of Building on Foundations as well as next year’s Annual Convention. RDs serve as a vital link between national leadership and staff and local chapters. Each RD will develop a workplan to strategically engage local chapters and members in their region. RDs are the primary information conduit between local chapters and the national officers, and they function as enthusiasts, troubleshooters and organizers rolled into one for their region.
International Regional Directors
The International Regional Directors (IRDs) are elected each year by the international caucus of AMSA, which meets on Saturday at Annual Convention. The responsibilities of the IRDs include assisting in the development and chartering of new international chapters, contacting international medical students regarding AMSA membership and coordinating the international caucus. Each IRD will develop a workplan to strategically engage local chapters and members in their region. IRDs are the primary information conduit between local chapters and the national officers, and they function as cheerleaders, troubleshooters and organizers rolled into one for their region.
Premedical Regional Directors
The Premedical Regional Directors (PRDs) are elected each year by the premedical chapters of their respective region. The responsibilities of the PRDs include assisting in the development and chartering of new premedical AMSA chapters, contacting undergraduate students regarding AMSA membership and coordinating the premedical caucus. Each PRD will develop a workplan to strategically engage local chapters and members in their region. PRDs are the primary information conduit between local chapters and the national officers, and they function as cheerleaders, troubleshooters and organizers rolled into one for their region.
