We hope you will join us on March 12 for the reception as AMSA announces this year’s recipients!

Presented each year at AMSA's annual convention, awards include the National Golden Apple Award for Teaching Excellence, Paul R. Wright Excellence in Medical Education Award, LGBT Health Achievement Award, and Women Leaders in Medicine Award.
  • Vigil for Social Justice: Stand in Solidarity
As future physicians, we stand as agents for societal improvement…as AMSA members, we stand in solidarity for social justice--against injustices that spread disease, inhibit prevention, and block access to screening, diagnosis, and treatment. Injustices like poverty-stricken children in areas without clean water, dying of diarrheal diseases. Injustices like women without a fair chance at protecting themselves against HIV/AIDS. Like minorities facing poor health outcomes solely for being a minority, and hardworking families going without access to healthcare… Stand for patients. Stand for your profession. Stand for social justice.

AMSA’s “Social Justice Vigil” is hosted on Thursday, March 11 (6:30-7:30pm) by Farheen Qurashi, your Jack Rutledge Legislative Director (JRLD). Featured speakers: Rishi Rattan, MD (Tufts University Medical Center) and Krista Lauer, M.Sc (The Global Forum on MSM & HIV). Candles provided .
